After comfortably defeating Tuxford in the Quarter Final to make the Semi Final, an in form West Bridgford side travelled to George Spencer with big hopes of claiming a ticket to the U15 County Cricket Final.
George Spencer were put into bat by West Bridgford captain Saad Ashraf, and got off to a decent start for the first few overs. But following some quality bowling from the likes of Jacob Davies, Jai Jandu and Callum Dring, the top order were restricted to 5 runs per over with 3 wickets down after 8 overs.
Josh Magson, Callum Dring and Joe Blaney were introduced into the attack and, and together slowed the run rate considerably and began to get to work on the George Spencer middle order with a couple of brilliant ctaches talen by Callum Dring. Lloyd Marchant chipped in with an important wicket late on to put the squeeze on the lower order and restrict the home side to 88/8 from 20 wickets.
The target was set for West Bridgford at 89 to win, and Saad and Harry Simpson were sent in to open. The pair got off to a flying start and by 5 overs were on 32 without loss and considerably ahead of the run rate set. They both pulled out some very entertaining shots with some great Cricket, and easily finished with a 10 wicket win, with Saad finishing on a massive 71*, and Harry playing a notable innings of 15* too. The lads now progress into the Final at Hucknall CC on Wednesday 22nd against either South Wolds or Elis Guliford. Good luck!
