Wow, what a night!! Thursday 18th June 2015 will go down in history with our Year 11 students. A wonderful night was had by all at the Year 11 Prom at Colwick Hall, but we couldn’t have done it without all the help from the Prom Committee, friends and many parents. A huge thank you to everyone that came along to help.
From 7pm the students began to arrive and the colour of dresses, shoes, suits and ties was an absolute rainbow. Everyone looked fantastic and the effort made by all certainly paid off.
Not only was effort shown in their attire but with the transport as well, from a Harley Davidson and a Triumph Stag to a Maserati and a Unicycle.
The formal dinner was served at 8pm, when students had time to chat with their friends and no doubt reminisce about the last few weeks since the amazing leaving assembly. What a way to celebrate all that hard work and preparation for their final GCSE exams.
As is tradition Awards were presented to a few students by the Prom Committee to a huge amount of cheering and applause. The Prom King and Queen, Usaamah Chowdhery and Katie Barnsley were crowned by Mr McDonough.
A small number of students observing Ramadan had their meal at a later time but this did not stop them having a night to remember with their friends. Dancing began at 9:30pm and many didn’t leave the floor until 11pm.
It was great to see so many staff both at the student’s arrival and later on after the meal.
So what now? Results!
We look forward to seeing Year 11 again on Thursday 20th August when they open their envelopes.
