REMEMBERING EX-PUPILS

remembrance2Staff and students of the West Bridgford School commemorated three former pupils of the school who served in the RAF and died during the Battle of Britain. John Turner, Eric Mason and Reg Gale are buried at Wilford Cemetery and their names can be found on the Memorial Plaque to the boys of the school who died during the Second World War. Their wartime experiences had been researched by recently retired West Bridgford teacher, Ailish D'Arcy who also attended. Current students at the School, wore their Air Training Corps and Army Cadet uniforms to lay poppy wreaths and flowers at the graves in remembrance of the young men who attended the school and gave their lives in the Second World War.
