On the 16th April 2016 over 30 West Bridgford Dance girls performed for the annual Rushcliffe Dance Show held at The Becket School. The evening was a fantastic event comprised of local primary and secondary schools, all coming together for an evening, celebrating dance talent within our local area.
The West Bridgford students performed three pieces in preparation for the National Finals in July. The girls began the evening with their jazz piece; Feeling Good where their teal dresses dazzled under the stage lighting. The girls were sharp and sophisti-cated, accentuating all their movements within the typical jazz style.
The Key Stage 3 girls took to the stage next with their new dance piece ‘Colorblind’, a lyrical dance piece which is centred on breaking down cultural barriers and seeing beyond stereotypes. The girls took to the stage in a variety of different coloured tops and bottoms with layered black mesh dresses and feather headdresses in their hair.
The final performance of the evening was the Key Stage 4 girls with their piece ‘The Beginning of the End’. The girls drew in the audience with their dark and mesmerising performance which included powerful leap sequences and explosive movements.
All of the girls performed with enthusiasm and passion for dance, they were all ex-tremely professional and a credit to the school.
