Children In Need Fun Run November 18 2011

A lovely day, a wonderful group of about 60 year 10 pupils and a very worthy cause – what more can you ask (a nice hot bath after, is the answer!) Matt Pethick had researched a very special children’s charity for our collection. It is based at a Scottish hospital and called ‘Jack Can Draw Anything’

We had a great run – that is fairies, monsters, angels, furry creatures and that was just the staff! Everyone took up the challenge of the 5 k. run, once round Rushcliffe Country Park with a small elite group led by Mr Peacock, Harry Brown, Charlotte Reed, Alycia Hutchinson and Claire Dickinson storming round twice for the full 10 k. –WELL DONE!

This has now established itself as a firm fixture on the autumn calendar when it is really fun to see young people making that extra effort to break out of their routine, sign up, collect money AND run around in the November chill – Ms Williams and I feel a real priviledge to be part of such enthusiasm and energy.
