Together with our family of schools we have made a commitment to achieving this standard which was officially launched in 2003 in Leeds. Stephen Lawrence's death is one of many thousands of deaths resulting from racist attacks. What makes this death different is the legacy it has left and the changes in government legislation and practice throughout the UK.
For our school it means we are making a public commitment to promote equality in its wider sense, raise achievement and promote community cohesion.
We have already done lots of exciting work but wish to further develop our aim of encouraging all pupils to recognise the part they play in our local community in West Bridgford and within society in its wider sense.
We have groups of pupils (Ambassadors) who have delivered assemblies and strongly believe we have a duty to ensure all our pupils appreciate and value the diversity of culture that lies across our city and help them understand their part in helping to create an open society where everybody matters.
We invite you to share in our vision and we seek your support in ensuring that our young people
become engaged and responsible global citizens.
